Seascapes

North Norfolk Coast

I recently had the opportunity to escape the city and head out to the Norfolk coast for some wildlife photography at the wonderful RSPB Titchwell Marsh. The bonus with this place is the fabulous beach on the far side of the reserve and although a 4am start from home may seem a bit daft, the reward of sitting on the beach at 6am watching the tide come in made it all worth while.

Filters and long exposures

I had been itching to put my Lee filters to the test, I have a 6 stop ND and a 3 stop graduated ND in their Lee 100 range. An adapter ring screws onto the front of the lens, you then clip on the holder and slide in the filter. The ND Grad helps to bring the sky a little closer to the exposure of the sea and the 6 stop allowed me to slow the shutter down to get that pleasing (to some) motion blur.

Perhaps a bit minimalist for some?
